When we talk about weight loss we usually don’t include self-care in the conversation. It’s usually about how many carbs or calories you are eating.

When we think of weight loss usually the first thing that comes to mind is calories. These days, after that, carbs. Or some may think of exercise.
On one side you have the vegan and vegetarian camp saying things like you need a lot less than you think. And you don’t need to eat meat to get your protein.
How exactly do you eat a high-fiber diet? And beyond that, why should you care? Well, you should care because fiber is a secret weapon.
When I tell people I’m a nutritionist, what do you think is the biggest burning desire almost everyone asks me about? It is to lose belly fat.
Cortisol gets a bad reputation because it raises blood sugar (and therefore insulin) and it has a catabolic (breaking down of tissue) effect in the body. It is also associated with stress and no one likes stress.
And most people have a vague idea that stress and cortisol lead to weight gain or trouble losing weight.
